Emergency First Aid at Work is a new 1-day course which was introduced by the HSE in October 2009. This course can only be offered by HSE approved training organisations, which serves to reassure you that the standard of training is adequate. The Emergency First Aid Course can be adapted to suit a particular audience and is ideal for those who would like or need Appointed Person status. This is the statutory Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved Emergency First Aid at Work course, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Aims of the Course:
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
•First Aid Priorities
•Treatment of an unconscious Casualty
•Examining a Casualty
•Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations
•Burns and Scalds
•Basic Life Support
•First Aid Kits
•Control of Bleeding
•Managing Incidents and Prioritising
•Recording and Reporting
Length of the Course:
One day (6hrs) consisting of both theory and practical work.
Course certification:
On successful completion of the course participants will be awarded an Emergency First Aid certificate valid for 3 years.
Course location:
Delivered in the workplace.
Instructor:
The course is delivered by HSE approved instructor.
