STA MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING

We now offer STA Manual Handling Training Courses accredited to current HSE standards using the Manual Handling Training Passport and Information Scheme. This course details legal and practical aspects of handling inanimate loads, providing background to legislation, and outlines employer and employee responsibilities. Attention is given to storage and handling in order to bring forward the importance of “Looking ahead” and “

Thinking for others”.

More than a third of all “over three day” injuries reported each year, to the

HSE and local authorities arise from manual handling. Therefore in response

to ongoing industry demand the STA (Safety Training Awards) has developed

a 1/2 day course to attempt to reduce the number of injuries due to manual

handling through the provision of adequate and meaningful training.

Can you afford not to train your employees in the correct manual

  handling techniques??

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007

For the first time, companies and organisations can now be found guilty of corporate manslaughter as a result of serious management failures resulting in a gross breach of a duty of care.

The Act, which came into force on 6 April 2008, clarifies the criminal liabilities of companies including large organisations where serious failures in the management of health and safety result in a fatality.
